I’m a professional card counter and have coached blackjack teams and trained hundreds of solo players. There’s an extensive list of successful advantage players who vouch for my qualifications to train and evaluate winning blackjack players.
The Spartan Test is a $600 two-hour experience – 90 min test + 30 min evaluation – and includes a preliminary 20 min phone call to go over my test format and answer your questions. I recommend the standard test for career professionals, but can customize a test based on your needs.
The test begins with filling a chart of the playing indices you know – at minimum, you should know the illustrious 18 for both Hit & Stand 17. Then you’ll warm up with a test of 3 single-deck countdown drills – a passing grade is an average of ≤ 25 secs while individually counting down each card. Any running count error will add 5 secs to your time.
The test will simulate a real casino environment. There will be music and casino ambient sounds in the background. You can expect your shoes to have positive biases and expect running counts higher than 20. There’s no count verification until the end of the test. You’re expected to act as if you are in a casino so don’t blatantly stare at the discard tray or take too long to make decisions. I’ll encourage conversation and distractions, attempt to mis-pay you, and players may join your table. If you can’t keep the count while holding a conversation, you will almost certainly make enough errors in the casinos to lose your advantage. I can tell you exactly where your skills are at and what you can do to improve them.
During our post-test evaluation, I’ll review any errors and provide you feedback for improvement. Then I can answer any blackjack, casino, bankroll management, and business/team organization questions.
